Submitting a manuscript? Please include: your name and contact details, title/genre/word count, where the manuscript stands, which services interest you, your cover plan, and your first three chapters or 25 pages. We'll ask for the full text once we've read your opening.

Send Your Sample
Email your first three chapters or first 25 pages to submissions@briarbirchpublishing.com, along with the details listed above. Please send a sample first — we'll ask for the full manuscript once we've read your opening.

Personal Review
We read your sample personally — usually within one to two weeks. We consider premise, craft, market fit, and whether it's a project we can do real justice to.

Your Tailored Quote
If it's a fit, we send a personalized recommendation and a clear written quote. No surprises — just a plain proposal built around your specific book and needs.

Welcome Aboard
A simple one-page agreement, a 50% deposit, and your KDP account setup. Then we get to work — with you in the loop throughout editing, formatting, and upload.

Published
Your book goes live on Amazon — under your name, in your account, with every royalty flowing directly to you. It's entirely, wonderfully yours.

Hybrid publishing sits between traditional publishing and full self-publishing. Traditional publishers pay for production and distribution but take your rights and pay a small royalty. Self-publishing gives you full control but leaves you alone to figure out editing, formatting, and upload. Hybrid publishing — our model — means you invest in professional production services (editing, formatting, KDP upload), while retaining full ownership of your book and keeping a far greater share of your royalties.

Absolutely. Your book, your name, your account — always. We never take ownership of your work. Your KDP account is opened in your name with your bank and tax details. Amazon pays royalties directly to you, and you have full access to your sales dashboard at all times. We simply help run the day-to-day production work on your behalf.

Our services are priced à la carte, starting from $150 for ebook-only formatting. Our most popular bundle — the Complete package — starts at $1,200 and includes copyediting, formatting, upload, and listing optimization. Editing is priced per word because it scales with manuscript length. You'll always receive a written quote before any work begins. Full-service hybrid publishers typically charge $5,000–$25,000+ per book. Our boutique, transparent model is designed to be accessible without sacrificing quality.

We don't design covers ourselves — that creative decision, including whether to use AI, belongs entirely to you. What we do offer is guidance: trusted referrals to vetted freelance designers and illustrators, honest explanations of all your cover options (freelance, pre-made, or AI), and a KDP-ready review of your finished cover to ensure it meets trim, bleed, spine, and resolution requirements so it goes live without rejections.

Yes, always. A paid manuscript evaluation ($250–$400 flat) is a low-commitment way to get honest, written feedback before you commit to a full edit or production package. We'll give you a genuine read and a clear sense of where your manuscript stands and what it might need. No pressure, no jargon — just an honest conversation about your book.

It's the only avenue we offer today, though we are actively exploring additional channels. Our listing optimization service ensures your book is discoverable with strong keywords, categories, and A+ content on Amazon.
